Two owners of Lawrence businesses will participate in a local leadership discussion to be conducted in conjunction with the national Maximum Impact simulcast.

Shirley Martin-Smith, owner of Martin-Smith Personnel Services Inc. and the local franchise of Adecco, and John Ross, owner of Laser Logic, will be part of a lunchtime panel Friday at Free Methodist Church, 3001 Lawrence Ave.

The panel is a local component of the simulcast, a leadership event featuring sports personalities, corporate officials and leadership experts. The national participants will be projected onto a wall-size screen at the church.

The event will include leadership tips, advice and other guidance designed to help people take their leadership skills to the next level. It is set for 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. Friday.

Cost is $59 in advance, or $79 at the door. The cost includes lunch.
