Members of The Pink Floyd Experience say their act is “the next best thing to being at a Pink Floyd concert.” The San Diego-based tribute band – complete with a laser light show, surround-sound speakers and the signature flying pig – covers tunes like “Wish You Were Here,” “Money” and “Comfortably Numb.” They take the stage at 7:30 p.m. today at the Lied Center.

The Lawrence Community Theatre is bringing back a classic. “The Secret Garden,” adapted from the much-loved children’s book, follows 10-year-old Mary Lennox, who is sent to live with her reclusive uncle in England after her entire family dies of cholera in India. By reviving a neglected garden, Mary brings new life back to her grieving uncle, his ailing son and herself. Shows are at 8 p.m. today and Saturday and 2:30 p.m. Sunday, and continue for two weekends.

Childbirth, by its nature, can be dramatic. So it’s only natural that labor might make good stage drama. “Birth: The Play” tells the childbirth stories of eight different mothers through monologues and bare-bones props. The show was written by the founder of Birth on Labor Day after interviewingd hundreds of women. Performances are at 7 p.m. Saturday and 2 p.m. Sunday at the Lawrence Arts Center.
