Actor Orlando Bloom in minor car collision

Los Angeles – Orlando Bloom was involved in a minor car crash on a Hollywood street early Friday morning, police said.

Witnesses told police the “Pirates of the Caribbean” star was driving alone on Fountain Avenue when another vehicle cut him off and he hit a parked car, said Officer Ana Aguirre.

Bloom, 30, wasn’t injured and filed a report with police, Aguirre said.

“No alcohol was involved, and he wasn’t speeding,” Aguirre said. There was minor damage to his car and the parked car, she said.

Aguirre didn’t know the exact time or location of the crash.

A phone message left early Friday at the office of Bloom’s publicist, Robin Baum, wasn’t immediately returned.

Winehouse to perform at mtvU Woodie Awards

New York – Amy Winehouse, who has been in and out of the headlines in recent months, will perform at the 2007 mtvU Woodie Awards in New York next month.

The British diva pulled out of MTV’s Video Music Awards, which were held in Las Vegas on Sept. 9.

Her U.S. record label, Universal Republic Records, said all U.S. appearances had been canceled “in a continued effort to support Amy Winehouse’s well-being.”

In August, Winehouse canceled a series of British concerts and put her North American tour on hold. The 24-year-old retro-soul singer had been dogged by concerns over her health and reports of drug use.

The fourth annual mtvU Woodie Awards will be presented Nov. 8 at the Roseland Ballroom.

They will air Nov. 15 on mtvU, MTV’s 24-hour college network, and its Web site.
