Baldwin City ? Author Laura Moriarty, a Kansas University graduate, will read from and discuss her new novel, “The Rest of Her Life,” at 7:30 p.m. Thursday in the Owens Audio-Visual Room on the Baker University campus.

The Lawrence author’s new work chronicles the aftermath of a tragedy caused by a teen’s carelessness and its impact on an already strained mother-daughter relationship.

The event, sponsored by the university’s language and literature department, is part of Baker’s sesquicentennial reading series.
