Van Go Mobile Arts Inc., a Lawrence social service agency, has received $22,425 by the Topeka Community Foundation for the Locally Grown JAMS program, which provides nutrition and health education to at-risk teens.
Locally Grown JAMS, an off-shoot of Van Go's award-winning Jobs in the Arts Make Sense (JAMS) program, provides at-risk teens with health education and nutritious lunches facilitated by the Community Mercantile Education Foundation and local chefs.
The grant, part of Topeka Community Foundation's "Healthy Lifestyle" initiative, will cover a large portion of expenses for the summer 2008 session of Locally Grown JAMS.
