Renowned pianist to perform at Baker

Andreas Klein

The New York Times called Andreas Klein “A fascinating artist with all the indispensable qualities: temperament, taste, touch, tone, the four T’s of pianism.”

The German-born pianist will perform at 7:30 p.m. Thursday at Baker University’s McKibbin Recital Hall as part of the school’s Artist and Lecture Series. Admission is $20 for adults and $15 for youths.

Klein’s career as a soloist has taken him to the world’s most prestigious venues: London’s Wigmore Hall, Berlin’s Philharmonic Hall, New York’s Carnegie Hall and Alice Tully Hall, and the Kennedy Center in Washington, D.C.

During the 2006 celebration of the 250th anniversary of Mozart’s birth, Klein’s tour with the Salzburg Chamber Soloists brought him to the Lied Center.

Season tickets for the Baker series are $45 for adults and $25 for youths. Tickets can be bought at the Baker University business office, Baldwin State Bank, Kansas State Bank or by calling (785) 594-8421 or e-mailing susan.buehler@bakeru.edu. All events are general admission. Tickets are available at the door 30 minutes before the performances.
