"It's a Wonderful Life" comes alive at LHS

It's a stage production of a radio drama that was originally a book but is famous for being a movie. Tonight, "It's a Wonderful Life" comes to the stage at Lawrence High School, for an old-time, radio-show-style performance. The performance is the subject of this week's Pulse Podcast. Director Charlie Goolsby and cast members talk about the benefits and challenges of the radio reincarnation of the holiday classic. After that, hear about some of the other events going on in Lawrence this weekend.

Tonight, "It's a Wonderful Life" comes to the stage at Lawrence High School, for an old-time, radio-show-style performance.

The performance is the subject of this week's Pulse Podcast. Director Charlie Goolsby and cast members talk about the benefits and challenges of the radio reincarnation of the holiday classic - including altering their voices and using sound effects.

Goolsby says "It's a Wonderful Life" is a great way to get into the holiday spirit.

"It is that idea that each of us has an impact on other people whether we know it or not," Goolsby says. "It's a feel-good, life-is-good, life-is-redeeming sort of story, and that's why it's always shown at Christmas time."

The production starts at 7:30 p.m. today. Tickets are $5 for the public and $3 for students.
