Linda Hogan files for divorce from Hulk

Clearwater, Fla. – Linda Hogan has filed for divorce from her wrestler husband Hulk Hogan, a newspaper reported Friday.

Hulk Hogan, whose real name is Terry Bollea, told the St. Petersburg Times that he had no idea his wife had filed for divorce. He was informed by a reporter that Pinellas County court records showed that the paperwork was submitted Tuesday.

“Thank you for the great information,” he told the reporter.

“My wife has been in California for about three weeks. … Holy smokes,” Bollea later told the newspaper. “Wow, you just knocked the bottom out of me.”

The couple star in the VH1 reality TV series “Hogan Knows Best,” with their two children. Recent episodes show the normally close couple attending marital counseling, but they eventually reconcile.

‘Bachelor’ contestant arrested for hitting man

Seminole, Fla. – A former cheerleader for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers who was proposed to on the reality TV show “The Bachelor” was accused of punching a man she lives with in the mouth, authorities said.

Mary Delgado was taken into custody just after midnight Wednesday on a battery charge and was under the influence of alcohol when she was arrested, according to a police affidavit.

Delgado received a proposal on the show in 2004 from professional bass fisherman Byron Velvick. The two appeared together Tuesday in a special episode of “The Bachelor” called “After the Final Rose.”

The police affidavit does not name Delgado’s fiance, but says the pair have lived together “as a family” for the last three years.

U2’s surprise delights charity concertgoers

London – U2 stars Bono and The Edge showed up unannounced and played as a warmup act at a charity concert in London.

The show delighted the 250 people who attended the fundraiser Friday night for Mencap, a charity that campaigns for equal rights for children and adults with learning disabilities.

“Don’t tell Larry (Mullen) and Adam (Clayton) we’ve done this,” Bono joked about his other two band mates from the small stage at London’s Union Chapel.

Bono and The Edge – performing as a warmup act for Biffy Clyro, a Scottish rock group – played four of their songs: “Stay,” “Desire,” “Angel Of Harlem” and “Wave Of Sorrow,” a track written for their 1987 album “Joshua Tree.”

A member of the audience, Simon Dowling, 20, from Newcastle, northern England, said he was shocked when the U2 stars suddenly appeared on stage.

Willie Nelson pushes for state dogfighting bill

Atlanta – Willie Nelson is looking to become dog’s best friend.

The country music star has filmed a television spot supporting an anti-dogfighting bill that is moving through the Georgia Legislature.

In the ad, Nelson looks into the camera while “Georgia on My Mind” plays in the background.

“Dogfighting is against the law in Georgia, but the laws are so weak, the beautiful state of Georgia has become a haven for dogfighters from around the country,” he says.

The bill would make it a felony for anyone to sell, trade or transport dogs for the purpose of dogfighting.
