State representative leads conservation panel

State Rep. Tom Sloan, R,-Lawrence, led a panel, “Going Green – A Primer on Sustainable Practices,” at the State Government Affairs Council’s recent Leaders Policy Conference in Miami.

Panelists explored innovative programs in recycling, resource conservation, and reducing institutional energy consumption. Among Sloan’s discussion points was to emphasize that reducing energy, water and other resource use does not mean a reduction in individual lifestyles.

Also discussed during the conference: transportation infrastructure needs, health care delivery system advances, immigration, and requirements of an aging population.
