Report: Prince Harry, girlfriend call it quits

London – Prince Harry and his Zimbabwean-born girlfriend have ended their three-year romance, a newspaper reported today.

The News of the World said that Chelsy Davy, who has been studying at a college in England while dating the prince, broke off the relationship this week after losing patience with his playboy lifestyle and lack of commitment to her.

Clarence House, where Prince Harry lives with his father, Prince Charles, and his brother, Prince William, declined to confirm the report, saying it doesn’t comment about the royals’ private lives.

Prince Harry, 21, graduated this year from Britain’s elite Sandhust military academy after training to become an army officer. He hopes to one day serve on the front line alongside his colleagues if called to wars such as the one being fought in Afghanistan.

Court orders husband of singer Winehouse held

London – Singer Amy Winehouse looked on tearfully Saturday as a British judge ordered her husband held on charges stemming from a case in which he is accused of assaulting a barman in June.

Winehouse watched from the gallery in Thames Magistrates’ Court in London as her husband, Blake Fielder-Civil, 25, was ordered held in custody until Nov. 23.

According to the charges read out in court, Fielder-Civil conspired with the alleged victim of the assault, persuading him to withdraw as a witness at the trial, which was to begin Monday.

Anthony Kelly, 25, also was ordered held in custody, accused of assisting Fielder-Civil.

Kelly and Fielder-Civil are among five men arrested in relation to the assault case.

Fielder-Civil and Michael Brown, 39, face charges of assaulting the barman on June 20.

Retro soul singer Winehouse has won worldwide acclaim for her second album, “Back to Black,” but has also made headlines through erratic behavior, health fears and reports of heavy drug use. In August she spent time in rehab and canceled a series of dates in Britain, the United States and Canada.

Michael Feinstein song to kick Macy’s parade

New York – When the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade gets under way this year, it will be to the rhythm of a Michael Feinstein song especially written for 600 dancing children.

The 81st annual parade’s opening number – “Making Magic” – was choreographed by John Dietrich of the Radio City Rockettes, with lyrics by Bill Schermerhorn, the parade’s creative director.

The children were trained by Camp Broadway, which offers summer programs for youngsters taught by theater professionals. Camp Broadway has created a special one-week program leading up to the Nov. 22 parade, including a series of workshops, classes and rehearsals for the children.

Feinstein, a composer and cabaret singing star, is known for his performances and recordings of American popular songs.

Ono unveils art exhibition in Brazil

Sao Paulo, Brazil – Yoko Ono – the world’s most famous unknown artist, as her late husband, John Lennon, called her – brought an exhibition with about 80 of her works to South America’s largest city.

The 74-year-old Ono also will take part in a theatrical performance titled “A Night with Yoko,” organizers said.

“When I’m invited to perform in other countries, I always have doubts on whether I should go,” Ono said on the Web site of the daily O Globo. “But after showing my work, I feel like I can affect people.”

The exhibition, called “Yoko Ono, a Retrospective,” began Saturday and will stay in Sao Paulo until Feb. 3.

Some of the artworks are from the 1993 exhibition “Blood Objects.”
