November 11, 2007

Allegresse, a new trio composed of Margaret Marco, Kansas University associate professor of oboe, Ellen Bottorff (piano) and Annie Gnojek (flute), will perform at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday at Swarthout Recital Hall in Murphy Hall, 1530 Naismith Drive.

The trio will perform the works of Telemann, Eugene Goossens, Jacques Offenbach, Gaetano Donizetti, Philippe Gaubert and Jules Demerssemann. Allegresse also will perform the "Marbella Fantasy," written by Andrey Rubtsov, the principal oboist of the Russian National Orchestra. The group presented the U.S. premiere of this work in September in Topeka.
