Museum seeks poetry for elevator project

The Spencer Art Museum is undertaking a poetry exhibition, featuring poetry and other prose related to or in response to a particular piece of art or exhibition(s) on display at the museum.

Other topics can be art in general, elevators, museums and the artistic process. Poetry in response to a poem or other written work previously displayed in the elevator is also acceptable.

Poetry will be displayed in the Spencer Museum elevator beginning Dec. 1. The text will be changed once a month to once every two weeks. The exhibition will run indefinitely.

Send poems in Word format or in the body of an e-mail to: elevator.dialogue@gmail.com. Submissions will be accepted immediately and will be ongoing until further notice. The museum will notify writers as soon as possible if their work will be displayed. Suggested maximum length is 45 lines in 14-point type, four or five haiku on a single page, or poems in two 13-inch columns, also in 14-point font.
