KU football squad lands wide receiver

Kansas University received its second football commitment for the 2008 class Friday, when Jamaal Johnson told Rivals.com that he’d be a Jayhawk.

Johnson, a 6-foot-2, 180-pound wide receiver out of Houston Chavez High, committed to Kansas soon after being offered.

“Jamaal uses his size very well when going up for the ball and catches the ball away from his body,” Chavez coach Mike Jackson told Rivals. “He’s very physical, and when he gets the ball in his hands, he doesn’t go out of bounds.”

Johnson is the second 2008 player to commit to Kansas. Last month, the Jayhawks received a pledge from Sean Ransburg, an athlete out of Harrisonville, Mo.
