The Premier Art Exhibition by members of the Lawrence Area Pastel Artists is being featured in the current exhibit at the Lawrence Public Library, 707 Vt.

The exhibit is scheduled to run through May 31 in the Main Gallery.

Eight artists are displaying more than 40 paintings. Landscapes, portraits, still life and abstracts are featured.

Alice Broughton, Kathy Drungilas, Lynette Hayes, Maryam Hjersted, Kathleen Hoff, Suzi Jordan, Nancy Ness, Libby Schmanke and Jean Terry are all members of the Lawrence Area Pastel Artists, a group that began meeting in 2006 to share its passion for the pastel medium.

Library gallery hours are 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Monday through Friday, 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Saturday and 2 p.m. to 6 p.m. Sunday. Admission is free and open to the public. For more information on LAPA, call 766-0815 or (913) 723-3636.
