Kansas City, Mo. A 21-year-old man shot in the head early Sunday near the Westport bar and entertainment district has died, police said Tuesday.
Investigators think Chris Bartholomew, of the Kansas City suburb of Gladstone, was not involved in the disturbance that led to the shooting.
He died Monday night at the hospital where he was rushed after he was wounded near a pharmacy parking lot in the Westport area.
No arrests have been made in the homicide, which is the city's 36th for the year.
Officers were directing bar traffic when they heard numerous gunshots and saw a man fall to the ground.
The critically wounded man was rushed to the hospital. Another man was wounded in the barrage of gunfire, but his injury wasn't life-threatening, police said.
Detectives are trying to determine whether the shooting was connected to another one that left two other men wounded early Sunday in the same area.
