Douglas County commissioners tonight will consider a conditional-use permit request for an existing private airstrip in the southern area of the county.

Owners James and Barbara Butell want to continue using a grass airstrip at 593 E. 1250 Road.

If approved the permit would expire after 10 years but would be reviewed by commissioners in five years.

In other business, commissioners will consider:

¢ A request to close County Road 1055 for four hours Oct. 20 for the Maple Leaf Festival parade in Baldwin City.

¢ A cereal malt beverage license notice to townships for Up and Under to sell cereal malt beverages at 1329 E. 800 Road.

¢ A cereal malt beverage license notice to townships for Pipeline Productions Special Event for the Wakarusa Music & Camping Festival, 798 N. 1415 Road, for consumption on the premises during June 6-10.

¢ Skiing dates at Lone Star Lake.
