To the editor:

The news of the death of Mstislav Rostropovich brought back memories of the concert in “old” Hoch. Our daughter and I were sitting front row, staring up the strings of his cello into the face of this grand musician, playing with such intensity. A man in love with his music. Our daughter and I both had the same response to this event: MEMORIES.
