Snoop Dogg, ‘Diddy’ cancel British tour

London- Snoop Dogg and Sean “Diddy” Combs were forced to scrap a tour of Britain after authorities denied Dogg a visa, according to a statement Tuesday.

The duo, currently on a European tour, had been expected to play five dates in Britain.

“With late notice of Snoop being denied a visa, time has ran out and it is too late reconfigure the show,” the statement said.

British Home Office rules state that foreign citizens can be barred from entering the country if there were concerns about their presence.

In April 2006, Dogg, whose real name is Calvin Broadus, and five other men were arrested on charges of violent disorder and starting a brawl, and spent the night in jail after trouble flared when some in the rapper’s party were denied entry to British Airways’ first-class lounge at Heathrow Airport.

Bahamas inquest stalls on Smith’s son’s death

Nassau, Bahamas – An inquest into the death of Anna Nicole Smith’s 20-year-old son, Daniel, who died in September while visiting her after she gave birth in a Bahamas hospital, stalled Tuesday before a court could even pick a jury.

Soon after the court convened, spectators and reporters were ordered to leave the courtroom when Wayne Munroe, a lawyer for the estate of the former Playboy Playmate, asked the judge to consider a motion that “relates to the impaneling of a jury to act on this inquiry.” Bahamian legal rules prohibited attorneys from discussing the reasons why.

Later, Bernard Turner, director of public prosecutions, said the court would take at least another day to resolve the issue raised by Munroe and the inquest would not resume before Thursday. Jurors were excused until then.

Wynonna Judd files for divorce

Nashville, Tenn. – Wynonna Judd filed for divorce Tuesday from her estranged husband, less than a week after his arrest in Texas on sex charges involving a minor.

Dan R. Roach, 49, was arrested Thursday in Abilene and charged with three counts of aggravated sexual battery against a child younger than 13 in Nashville, police said.

He was expected to be extradited to Nashville, said police spokesman Don Aaron. It wasn’t known whether he had an attorney.

“I am obviously devastated,” the 42-year-old country singer said in a statement on her Web site. “Our family will pull together, begin the healing process and hopefully – by the grace of God – become stronger. We will move forward with our faith, family and our friends to find resolution to this difficult situation.”

Aaron said an investigation by the department’s sex crimes unit started in February.

Judd cited irreconcilable differences as a reason for divorce in the complaint filed in the Nashville suburb of Williamson County. The couple, who were married in November 2003, have been separated since Feb. 18, according to the complaint.

Leibovitz to photograph queen ahead of U.S. visit

London – Annie Leibovitz will take the official photograph for Queen Elizabeth II’s state visit to the United States, Buckingham Palace said Tuesday.

The photograph will be shot at the palace in the next few days. It will be released the day before the queen leaves for a six-day visit to the United States in early May, the palace said.

Leibovitz said the portrait would be “very formal and painterly” and that she was in negotiation with the palace over what the queen would wear.

“I feel like I’m a documentarian, and want to take a very simple portrait,” Leibovitz said in the palace’s portrait room, which featured photographs of the queen riding horseback with President Reagan and ballroom dancing with President Ford.

Leibovitz was among some 300 guests invited to the palace for a reception for Americans working in Britain. Supermodel Jerry Hall, actor Don Johnson and U.S Ambassador Robert Tuttle also attended.

It will be the queen’s fourth state visit to the United States, coming 50 years after her first one, when she was a guest of President Eisenhower.
