Haskell announces art show reception

Haskell Indian Nations University will host an opening reception for its art faculty show from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. today at Tommaney Hall Library.

The show will feature paintings and three-dimensional artworks by Leslie Evans, Marilyn Russell and Donald Secondine. The American Indian artists work with images and concepts from their cultural heritage. They will be present for the reception and available for dialogue.

Haskell’s art faculty teach arts foundations classes as well as design, photography, ceramics and art history. Hannah Little Coyote, a Cheyenne from Seiling, Oklahoma, designed the show publicity. She is a graphic arts student studying with Cecil Dawes.

The show is open to the public during regular library hours, 8 a.m. to 10 p.m. Monday through Thursday, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Friday and 1 p.m.-10 p.m. Sunday.
