The Lawrence Community Theatre will conduct auditions for its June production of “Thoroughly Modern Millie” next month.

Auditions will be at 6:30 p.m. April 2-3 at the theater, 1501 N.H. Teens and adults will be cast and are asked to prepare a short song for the audition. An accompanist will be provided.

Those interested also should be prepared for movement activities, and they should bring tap shoes if interested in a tap-dancing role. Scripts may be checked out of the theater office with a deposit.

“Thoroughly Modern Millie” is a high-spirited musical romp featuring an ingenue from Salina, intrigue and jazz, frisky flappers, dashing leading men and a dragon lady of a villainess audiences will love to hate.

The show is under the direction of Mary Doveton, with music direction by Judy Heller and choreography by Barb Wasson. Show dates are June 8-24.
