Registration open for book discussions

Lawrence Public Library is planning a series titled “Women Around the World,” a four-part book discussion group for April and May. The books, all written by women, look at the lives of women in other countries.

The following discussion dates are planned:

April 4: “None to Accompany Me,” by Nadine Gordimer.

April 18: “So Long a Letter,” by Mariama Ba.

May 2: “The House of the Spirits,” by Isabel Allende.

May 16: “Like Water for Chocolate,” by Laura Esquivel.

All discussions will take place at the library auditorium, 707 Vt. The Kansas Humanities Council will provide books and discussion leaders.
