Irish poet Vona Groarke, a teacher at Wake Forest University, will give a poetry reading at 7:30 p.m. Thursday in Ottawa.

“An Evening of Irish Poetry,” sponsored by the department of English and the Arts and Cultural Events Committee of Ottawa University, will take place at O’Dell Lounge in Martin Hall.

Groarke is the author of “Flight,” which was short-listed for the Forward Prize in 2002 and won the Michael Hartnett award in 2003.
