Two men arrested in Harvard Road robbery

Two people are now in custody for an aggravated robbery that occurred early Tuesday in the 3900 block of Harvard Road.

A 30-year-old rural Lawrence man was arrested Tuesday afternoon by Lawrence police and Douglas County sheriff’s officers. He was found at a rural home, but the exact address wasn’t released. He was booked into jail on suspicion of aggravated robbery, conspiracy and criminal use of a financial card. Police said they also recovered money and other items that were taken.

Earlier Tuesday, police arrested a 24-year-old local man for aggravated robbery and a Leavenworth County warrant.

The men were still being held pending formal charges Wednesday afternoon. No bonds had been set.

Police were called shortly after 3 a.m. Tuesday by a man who said he had been beaten and robbed of his wallet in the 3900 block of Harvard Road. A woman was with the two men who attacked him, according to a police report. A woman was found with the 30-year-old suspect, but she wasn’t arrested.
