The Kansas University Small Business Development Center, in conjunction with the Kansas Department of Revenue, will present two small-business tax seminars Thursday.

Two editions of Meet the Taxman: KDOR State Tax Workshops for Small Businesses, will be conducted in the conference room at the Lawrence Chamber of Commerce, 734 Vt.

The morning seminar, from 9 a.m. to 11:30 a.m., will feature a discussion on state tax issues specifically for contractors.

The afternoon seminar, from 1 p.m. to 4:30 p.m., will cover general state tax issues, such as sales tax and employee withholding taxes, and also review issues associated with streamlined sales taxes.

Cost is $20 for one seminar or $30 for both.
