KU theater students from Lawrence honored

Outstanding students and participants in Kansas University’s film and theater department were honored recently with awards and scholarships.

The annual Stage Supper, which recognizes theater students, was May 11 on the Crafton-Preyer Theatre stage. The Film Fiesta and “Tensie” Awards presentation was May 18 at Oldfather Studios.

Two students from Lawrence received honors: Manuel Perez-Tejada, doctoral student, film major, received the Herk Harvey Outstanding Graduate Teaching Assistant in Film Award and KU Film Studies Symposium Outstanding Paper Award.

Erin Niedenthal, junior, theater design major, daughter of Michael and Susan Niedenthal, received the Clarence Seaver Technical Theatre Scholarship.
