Police search for men in reported robbery
Lawrence police officers said they were searching for four men, described as in their early 20s, last seen in a white minivan after a reported aggravated robbery early Monday morning.
A 25-year-old man told officers that four to five men hit him and kicked him while he was on the ground. The man said he had been with several people Sunday evening and given them $20 to buy “refreshments,” according to a police report.
When they did not purchase the refreshments, the man said he asked them to return the money, which caused a verbal altercation that became physical. He said he also was missing $17.
Officers were dispatched at 2:20 a.m. Monday to an area in the 600 block of Florida Street. They found the reported victim walking west in the 1900 block of West Sixth Street.
