Hundreds of Scouts to take part in camp

Next week will bring about 300 Cub Scouts, along with their leaders and family members, to the Douglas County 4-H Fairgrounds at 2120 Harper St. for the annual Pelathe District Cub Scout Day Camp.

The camp runs from Monday to Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. daily, with a family night from 6:30 p.m. to 8 p.m. Thursday.

The Scouts will participate in about 45 activities, ranging from BB guns and archery to cooking and crafts, said Bruce Wagner, program director.

The Pelathe District covers all of Douglas County and part of Leavenworth County.
