Just before 1 a.m., a vehicle rolled over in the 1600 block of north 1500 Street.

According to Lt. Kari Wempe, Steve Sandy was ejected from the vehicle. The Texas native was then life-flighted to the University of Kansas Medical Center in critical condition. A female passenger refused treatment.

Police aren’t yet sure why the vehicle left the road. It was headed westbound on east 15th Street.
