One person was killed in a two-vehicle accident Monday morning south of Eudora.

The victim was identified as Michael R. Niehues, 49, Baldwin City. The accident happened at 6:46 a.m. at the intersection of County Roads 1061 and 460, about six miles south of Eudora.

A Douglas County Sheriff’s Department spokesman said a second person involved in the accident was not injured.

Officials said County Road 1061 was closed at North 800 Road for much of the morning, to allow for cleanup of the accident.
