LHS student wins photography award

A Lawrence High School student has won a national award for his photography.

Tyler Lau, a senior, won a National Foundation for Advancement in the Arts award of $1,500 for the foundation’s 2007 youngARTS program.

Lau was among 141 students out of 7,300 nationwide who shared prizes ranging from $500 to $10,000.

Lau also will receive a trip to New York to attend an April 24 event featuring a reception and art exhibit at the Museum of Modern Art and performance at the Ziegfeld Theater, where the award winners will present their art and be honored with their cash awards.
