National Symphony Orchestra to perform
Kansas University’s Lied Center presents the National Symphony Orchestra in a performance at 7:30 p.m. March 28.
Orchestra members also will participate in approximately 150 education and performance activities statewide during the last week of March.
Conducted by Emil de Cou, the program will include William Walton’s “Partita for Orchestra,” Aaron Copland’s “Appalachian Spring (suite from the ballet),” Franz Schubert’s “Symphony No. 8 in B minor, D. 759,” Maurice Ravel, “Suite No. 2” from the ballet “Daphnis et Chloe.”
Single tickets for the performance will be available to Friends of the Lied on Monday. Tickets will be available to the general public starting Jan. 29. They cost $25 and $30, with discounts for students, seniors, KU faculty and staff, and children.
