How to help: Library needs help with administrative tasks

Lawrence Public Library is in need of a volunteer for administrative support. The position includes two to four weekday hours each week. The volunteer must possess good computer and organizational skills.

Immediate volunteer needs

¢ The Teen Events Committee, sponsored by Boys and Girls Club, is looking for adult volunteers for the January junior high event from 7:30 p.m. to 10 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 27, at Woodlawn School. For more information contact Erika Zimmerman, teen coordinator, at 423-3780 or ezimmerman@sunflower.com.

¢ The Big Brothers Big Sisters program is in need of volunteer bowlers for the Bowl for Kids’ Sake event. Dates for bowling at Royal Crest Lanes are at 9:30 p.m. Feb. 16; 6 p.m. Feb. 17; 1 p.m. and 3 p.m. Feb. 18; 9:30 p.m. Feb. 23; and 2 p.m., 4 p.m. and 6 p.m. Feb. 24. Volunteers interested in being a team captain and having four other bowlers should call 843-7359.

¢ Meals on Wheels is in need of volunteer drivers to deliver lunch to homebound elderly and people with disabilities. The organization has opened several new routes and seeks more than 10 volunteers to take regular driving routes as well as extra substitute drivers. ¢ Babcock Place is seeking volunteers to pick up and deliver commodity goods to those in need once or twice each month depending on availability. Volunteers also are needed to lead residents through established exercise routines lasting 30 to 45 minutes on weekday mornings.
