¢ A 77-year-old retiree reported that a stranger robbed him of $103 cash and his wallet about 4 a.m. Tuesday at his apartment in the 1200 block of Mississippi.

Burglaries and thefts reported

¢ 2600 block of Knollbrook: More than $2,000 worth of appliances, including a refrigerator, two stoves and a washer, were stolen between 9 p.m. Monday and 8:30 a.m. Tuesday from two addresses in the block. The appliances all belonged to Ziegler Corp.

Injury accidents

¢ Two people went to the hospital by ambulance Tuesday afternoon after a one-vehicle rollover wreck on Interstate 70 near Lawrence. Nevail W. Driver, 70, Kansas City, Mo. was going east at a “high rate of speed” about 1:25 p.m. Tuesday when he lost control of a 2007 Chevrolet sedan, struck a barrier wall and flipped, according to a report. He and a passenger, Vivian Louise Collier, 39, Kansas City, Mo., both were wearing seat belts but were taken to Lawrence Memorial Hospital with neck and back pain.

¢ A 22-year-old Lawrence man was injured when he ran a red light Tuesday morning at Ninth and Kentucky streets and struck another vehicle. Nathan T. Nelson was going north on Kentucky in a 1990 Honda Accord about 10:30 a.m. when he ran a red light and struck an eastbound Dodge pickup truck driven by 20-year-old Craig G. Hendricks, Sells, Ariz. Nelson went to Lawrence Memorial Hospital by ambulance and was cited for a red-light violation, according to a police report.
