Peace conditions

To the editor:

We read the conditions that the Israeli government requires for talks (and peace) that Palestinians are to “recognize Israel, renounce violence, and accept past peace deals” (Journal-World, Feb. 22). We can understand the Israeli points and concerns.

I miss reading conditions that the Palestinians might present. Might the Palestinians require the acceptance of the results of last year’s election and compliance with past United Nations resolutions regarding boundaries and East Jerusalem? Palestinians have difficulty developing a government without also being an occupied country.

I miss reading the conditions Palestinians require. Are there none?
