Bush advice
To the editor:
A recent MSNBC poll revealed that 57 percent of all Americans believe that President Bush is leading the United States in the wrong direction in the war in Iraq. The war in Iraq is the president’s biggest headache and is a headache that he brought on himself.
My dad once told me, “It doesn’t cost anything to listen.” However, the president seems to hear only what he wants to hear.
Nonetheless, Bush may still be able to salvage a segment of this huge foreign policy blunder in Iraq. In order to do so, the president must give his undivided attention to veterans such as Nebraska Sen. Chuck Hagel, Virginia Sen. Jim Webb and the Iraq Study Group. Above all, it is crucial that Bush turn a deaf ear to “straight shooters” Vice President Dick Cheney and chief political strategist Karl Rove.
