Bad ideas

To the editor:

It should be “two strikes and you’re out.” These very high-priced consultants have earlier given us a proposed library to be built on a floodplain and now a proposal for a commercial area based on a failed plan in Portland, Maine. Was this latter information shared with the city fathers?

Seems that this bunch of “experts” are very good at one thing: extracting our tax dollars to fill their coffers. Let’s pull back from this “knee-jerk” (with emphasis on “jerk”) reaction of begging these carpetbaggers from solving each and every problem this city faces. How about a pro-rata refund for really bad ideas?

I suggest we solve our own problems.

Fred McElhenie,
