Law enforcement report
¢ A 22-year-old Lawrence woman discovered an incident of animal cruelty that occurred about 1:50 a.m. Saturday in the 1900 block of East 19th Street. No additional information was available.
Burglaries and thefts reported
¢ A 27-year-old Lawrence man reported to police the theft of more than $3,200 worth of items from his vehicle. The incident occurred between 7 p.m. Friday and 8:30 a.m. Saturday in the 1100 block of Vermont Street. Sunglasses, cologne and more than $3,000 in compact discs were taken, according to the police report.
¢ A 23-year-old Lawrence woman on Sunday reported the theft of a light blue 1995 Subaru Legacy, valued at $4,200, from the 2800 block of Ousdahl Road. The incident occurred between 11:05 a.m. and 1 p.m. Saturday.
¢ A 22-year-old Lawrence resident reported an incident of criminal damage and aggravated burglary on Crestline Circle. The incident occurred between 2 p.m. Friday and 8 a.m. Sunday.
Injury accidents
¢ A 49-year-old Tonganoxie resident was involved in a two-vehicle accident in Sedgwick County on Monday morning. About 8 a.m., Edward V. Knight, of Tonganoxie was driving a 2000 Freightliner semitrailer on Kansas Highway 96 east of Oliver. Knight was westbound when traffic started to slow, according to the Kansas Highway Patrol. The truck was unable to slow in time and struck a second vehicle, which went across the median and ended up facing west in the eastbound lane. The driver of the second vehicle, Georgia Hotmat, 59, of Wichita and passenger John Hotmat, 61, of Wichita, were taken to a hospital, where they were treated and released. Knight was not injured. All involved in the accident were wearing seatbelts.
¢ A bicyclist was transported to Lawrence Memorial Hospital with nonlife-threatening injuries Sunday night following an accident with a vehicle. The incident occurred about 8:30 p.m. at 21st Street and Ousdahl Road.
