Deadline approaching for painting workshop

A two-day Plein Air Painting Workshop at the Lumberyard Arts Center will celebrate the architecture, location and history of Baldwin City.

Visiting artist Tricia Spencer, of Lexington, Ky., will guide students, teachers and professional artists through an introductory session, followed by sketching and then painting.

Classes run from 9:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sept. 8 and 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sept. 9 at the arts center, 718 High St. Students are responsible for their own materials; maximum class size is 15.

There will be an exhibit for the students on the evening of Sept. 9 at the arts center.

To reserve a space, send a check or money order for $75 payable to Lumberyard Arts Center to P.O. Box 523, Baldwin City, KS 66006. Include your name, address, phone number and e-mail address and mail by Saturday.
