Rove tell-all book could make millions

For for not telling much, he'd get less

? Karl Rove could score millions for a book on his Bush White House years – but only if he’ll dish dirt that might rattle the cages of longtime colleagues, publishing experts said Tuesday.

If Rove goes as far as ex-CIA director George Tenet did in his tell-almost-all book, he, too, could get something like the $2 million advance the former spymaster was paid by HarperCollins, sources from three book publishers said.

If he writes a tell-nothing book like President Bush’s ex-spokesman Ari Fleischer wrote, he might get considerably less, those sources said.

“The advance could be high-six or even seven figures if Rove is willing to talk. If he’s not willing to say much that we don’t already know, I’d put the advance worth $75,000 or so,” said Washington book agent Diane Nine. “As one publisher pointed out, he has Bush’s ‘blessing’ for the book, which leads some to believe he won’t spill much.”

Rove, who earned $168,000 a year in the White House, confirmed Tuesday he is talking to uber-agent Bob Barnett, who hawked Bill Clinton’s book for $12 million.

“The president has encouraged me to write a book. I will do a book,” a Rove statement said.
