Weather looks favorable for launch of Endeavour

? The countdown clock began ticking Sunday night toward this week’s planned launch of shuttle Endeavour with teacher Barbara Morgan and her six crewmates.

Liftoff from the Kennedy Space Center in Central Florida is scheduled for 5:36 p.m. CDT Wednesday, reflecting a one-day delay to allow engineers to prepare Endeavour for its 14-day mission to the International Space Station.

Mission managers reported no mechanical glitches Sunday, and forecasters predicted a 70 percent chance of favorable weather Wednesday.
