Burglaries and thefts reported
¢ A 58-year-old Lawrence man reportedly arrived at his home in the 500 block of Arizona on Wednesday to find that his two dogs, valued at $3,000, were missing. A padlock was removed and the two Anatolian shepherds were released. Animal Control later picked up the dogs, which the owner recovered Thursday.
¢ A 46-year-old Lawrence man reported more than $7,000 in property missing from a storage unit in the 1700 block of West 31st Street on Tuesday. The man last saw the items Sept. 30, when he placed the property in storage. On Oct. 31, a witness observed a suspect with some of the property, including a red milk crate of brass items, valued at $400, which the witness recovered. However, items such as diamond earrings, rings, pocket knives and antiques are still missing.
