For the first time in five years, the Baldwin City Community Theater’s summer performance is back outside this year, in a vacant downtown lot.

The show is “Grease,” the 1971 stage production made famous by a 1978 movie starting Olivia Newton-John and John Travolta. It’s headed back to Broadway, and it recently was the subject of a reality TV show.

In this week’s Pulse Podcast, we look at the Baldwin City performance, as well as what has kept “Grease” so popular through the years. Also, you can hear the cast sing favorites “Grease,” “We Go Together” and “Hand Jive.”

And, as always, hear about some of the other events going on in Lawrence this weekend in our weekly Best Bets feature.
