Superintendent Randy Weseman announced Friday that Lawrence would have two new elementary school principals during the next school year.

Scott Cinnamon will be the new principal at Cordley School, and Debbie Booher Tann will be the new principal at Quail Run School.

Booher Tann will replace Paulette Strong, who is retiring in June after 21 years in the district and 34 years in education.

Booher Tann now serves as the elementary director of a laboratory school serving students in pre-kindergarten through grade five and as departmental chairwoman in the College of Education at Eastern Kentucky University in Richmond, Ky.

Cinnamon, an elementary school teacher in the Blue Valley school district, will replace Kim Bodensteiner, who will become the school district’s chief academic officer in July.

Both Cinnamon and Booher Tann will take over their duties in the 2007-08 school year, pending the school board’s approval at Monday’s meeting.
