Landlords and tenants will have a chance to learn more about fair housing laws at an upcoming seminar sponsored by the city’s Human Relations Department.

The department will host a free seminar from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Friday at the Lawrence Holidome, 200 McDonald Drive.

Steve Tomkowiak, an attorney and instructor at the Housing and Urban Development Fair Housing Training Academy, will be keynote speaker.

The seminar will feature topics related to landlord/tenant issues, disability concerns, landlord/tenant mediation and a Kansas legislative update.

On April 28, the city also will host an informational fair on housing issues. The fair, which also is free to attend, will run from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. April 28 at the Lawrence Arts Center, 940 N.H.
