Attorney appointed to state commission

Lawrence attorney Mark Andersen was appointed last month by the Kansas Bar Association to the Electronic Recording Commission in Kansas, and serves as its secretary.

Andersen also is a member of the commission’s Security Standards Committee.

The commission was created this past year by the Kansas Legislature to develop and adopt uniform statewide standards for the recording and enforcement of electronic real estate documents.

Andersen is a partner in the Barber Emerson law firm, Lawrence, and is a fellow of the American College of Real Estate Attorneys, a member of the American Land Title Association and the Kansas Society of Farm Managers and Rural Appraisers, and is admitted to the practice of law in both Kansas and Missouri.
