Timberlake, Alba top list of sexiest entertainers

New York – Another day, another list. But what the heck, this one is a “What is Sexy?” rundown from Victoria’s Secret.

“SexyBack” singer Justin Timberlake is sexiest male musician; Jessica Alba, who starred in “Sin City,” is sexiest actress; and David Beckham, who has three sons with his wife, Victoria, is sexiest dad.

The list of sexy entertainers and athletes was announced Thursday. It was compiled by a team of Victoria’s Secret executives, designers and supermodel spokeswomen, including Heidi Klum and Karolina Kurkova.

“I still think my husband (Seal) is the sexiest dad for our children, but (that’s) beside the point,” Klum, 33, told The Associated Press.

Lohan felt safe in rehab, says she’s not an addict

Los Angeles – Lindsay Lohan says she felt safe while she was in rehab earlier this year, but doesn’t consider herself an addict.

The 20-year-old actress said in January she had checked into the Wonderland Center in Los Angeles “to take care of my personal health.” Her publicist confirmed in December that Lohan was attending Alcoholics Anonymous meetings. Lohan then said she had been going to the meetings for a year.

“It’s so weird that I went to rehab. I always said I would die before I went to rehab,” Lohan tells Allure magazine in an interview in its May issue.

Lohan says she decided to enter the addiction treatment facility at the suggestion of her therapist. However, she says says, “I don’t know that I’m necessarily an addict.”

Feud between exes Baldwin, Basinger flares up over call

Los Angeles – The festering bad blood between movie-star exes Alec Baldwin and Kim Basinger erupted Thursday when an angry phone message from Baldwin to his daughter was made public.

On the recording, Baldwin can be heard admonishing his 11-year-old, Ireland, “You are a rude, thoughtless little pig.”

“You don’t have the brains or the decency as a human being,” he says, apparently upset that she did not answer her phone for a planned call.

“I don’t give a damn that you’re 12 years old, or 11 years old, or that you’re a child, or that your mother is a thoughtless pain … who doesn’t care about what you do as far as I’m concerned. You have humiliated me for the last time with this phone.”

He goes on to say that he plans to fly from New York to Los Angeles “for the day just to straighten you out on this issue.”

The recording was published by celebrity news site TMZ.com, which said that the call was placed April 11.

Polls: Most Americans believe Imus’ firing was appropriate

New York – A majority of Americans believe that Don Imus’ firing over racist and sexist remarks was appropriate, but whites were twice as likely as blacks to think his punishment was too tough, according to a survey released Thursday.

Imus was fired April 12 by CBS Radio after he called the Rutgers women’s basketball team “nappy-headed hos” on the air. MSNBC had canceled its simulcast of his morning radio show the day before.

Among those Americans who had heard “a little” or “a lot” about the Imus story, 54 percent said the host’s removal from the airwaves was about right. Thirty-two percent said it was too tough, and 8 percent said it was not tough enough, according to the survey by the Washington-based Pew Research Center for The People and The Press.

Majorities of both blacks and whites – 54 percent of whites and 61 percent of blacks – agreed with Imus’ punishment.

Jury finally chosen for Spector trial set to start Wednesday

Los Angles – A jury of nine men and three women was sworn in Thursday to decide whether music producer Phil Spector murdered actress Lana Clarkson four years ago.

A panel of six alternates remained to be selected. Superior Court Judge Larry Paul Fidler ordered that process to continue Monday, followed by opening statements Wednesday.

Spector, famous for his 1960s “Wall of Sound” recording technique, is accused of the fatal shooting of Clarkson, who was found dead in the foyer of his suburban Alhambra home on Feb. 3, 2003, after he picked her up from a nightclub where she was working as a hostess.
