Law enforcement report

¢ Lawrence police began investigating reports of bogus money orders being used to steal cash from Free State Credit Union branches at 1001 E. 23rd St. and 901 Iowa. Someone sought four money orders, each worth $850.

¢ A resident reported $1,200 of criminal damage to a 2004 Chevrolet Malibu. The damage occurred between 2:30 a.m. and 3 a.m. Thursday in the 1400 block of Kasold Drive.

¢ A property management company reported $1,200 of damage to a large plate glass window between 6:30 p.m. Friday and 8 a.m. Monday in the 1800 block of West 24th Street.

Burglaries and thefts reported

¢ A 20-year-old Lawrence woman reported that her purse and other personal belongings with an estimated value of $1,980 were stolen between 1 a.m. and 2 a.m. Saturday while she was at the Jayhawk Cafe, 1340 Ohio. About $60 worth of the belongings were recovered.
