MIT curator to talk about art, technology

Bill Arning, curator at the List Visual Arts Center at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, will give a lecture Thursday at Kansas University. The free talk starts at 7 p.m. at the auditorium in the Spencer Museum of Art, 1301 Jayhawk Blvd.

Arning has been curator at MIT’s List Visual Arts Center since 2000. As director and chief curator of the alternative space White Columns, he has organized many New York exhibitions for significant artists and was a frequent writer on art for Time Out New York, The Village Voice, Parkett and Art in America.

While at KU, Arning also will conduct a graduate seminar in the Art and Design Building, where he will lead a discussion on the topic of art and technology. His appearance is part of the Visiting Artist Series, sponsored by KU’s Department of Art.
