Lawrence artist Barbara Solberg will give two classes in pastels – the favorite medium of Edgar Degas and Mary Cassatt – this month at her studio.

The courses are welcome to artists of all skill levels. Solberg will set up a still life scene and teach the basics of drawing and using soft pastels.

Sessions will be from 9 a.m. to noon Oct. 7 and Oct. 21 at her home, 2504 Westdale Road. Class size is limited.
