Law enforcement report

¢ A 35-year-old Lawrence woman was taken to the hospital early Wednesday morning after police found her injured shortly after 3 a.m. The woman initially told officers that a man had approached her and struck her with his fist in an alley in the 1200 block of New York Street, but police said she would not tell an officer anything else about what happened.

¢ A 22-year-old Baldwin man, Corey W. Martinez, 1517 N. 700 Road, was arrested Tuesday night by the Kansas Highway Patrol on charges including possession with intent to sell drugs, possession of methamphetamine, heroin, and marijuana, and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Burglaries and thefts reported

¢ 1800 block of Massachusetts Street: $1,130 worth of patio furniture, including umbrellas, chairs and cushions, were stolen between 10 p.m. Monday and 9:45 a.m. Tuesday from outside Bambino’s restaurant, 1801 Mass.

¢ 700 block of Massachusetts Street: An unidentified person or persons entered Jefferson’s, 743 Mass., between 1:15 a.m. Sunday and 5:45 a.m. Tuesday and stole $4,276 from the business office, according to a report.

¢ 600 block of West 25th Street: Two suspects damaged a window screen between Sept. 18 and Saturday and stole about $1,300 worth of jewelry from an apartment. The suspects are known to the victim, according to a report.

¢ 2400 block of West 24th Terrace: An Apple computer, a digital camera and other items worth about $2,000 total were stolen in a burglary between 12:30 p.m. and 3:30 p.m. Monday.

¢ 1700 block of Westbrooke Drive: Someone stole a $2,200 “construction implement” from a construction site that had been secured to a backhoe with a cable and padlock, according to Kansas University police.

Injury accidents

¢ A Leavenworth man was injured when his truck rolled off of Interstate 435 in Johnson County on Wednesday.

According to a Kansas Highway Patrol report, 34-year-old Thomas Collene was taken to Overland Park Regional hospital with disabling injuries when his Ford truck flipped over while trying to enter northbound I-435 from the Shawnee Mission Parkway ramp.
